Another indie band spotting in a television commercial for a major brand. This time New York’s Young Lords teamed up with Guinness to promote responsible drinking. The song featured is the title track to their new album, Rodeo Songs.

Young Lords
I was first intrigued by New York’s Young Lords because the genres of music they classified themselves under on MySpace included Rock and Country. After listening to their debut album, Rodeo Songs, the twang was noticeably absent. It’s okay though. The Rock is pretty damn good.
It’s one of those albums that not breaking new ground, but they write catchy as hell garage rock songs and play them with energy. A very solid listen from start to finish.
