Ryan Adams Lucky Now on Letterman

by oz on December 7, 2011

Ryan Adams performed one of my favorite songs of the year, “Lucky Now,” on Letterman the other night. He’s on his solo tour now, so watch out for tickets – I’ll be at the Music Hall in KC.

Ryan Adams – Lucky Now [Music Video]

by Woody on October 10, 2011

Ryan Adams has a new album, Ashes & Fire, coming out tomorrow. Adams has had some misses in his day, but his latest release is one of his winners. I have spun through it twice and was immediately hooked. Here is the video for Lucky Now.

October 11th marks the day that Ryan Adams will release his long awaited album Ashes & Fire. He has just released four tracks for preview video stream and video and, although The Cardinals are not with him this go ’round, I think it’s safe to say this album will be a great one.

Judge for yourself. The videos are acoustic studio versions and the soundcloud streams are album cuts.

Ryan Adams just wrote a shocking post on his website.‚  Go there to read the entire stream of consciousness, but here’s how he signed off:

maybe we will play again sometime and maybe i will work my way back into some kind of music situation but this is the time for me to step back now, to reel it in and i wish everyone peace and happiness and if music is your dream, or if just dreaming is your dream, may you find your way through the rough patch with ease and i hope you let go and it takes you all the way there-

Sounds like a bit more than just a break. Hopefully Ryan knows that no one likes a quitter.‚  I think he’ll go the recluse route for a while but will re-emerge in disguise when we least expect it. Like Borat.

Ryan Adams is going at it alone in his bedroom again. Let’s hope he doesn’t put an eye out. Here’s a nice acoustic version of “Born Into a Light,” the lead track off of his latest album Cardinology. Tweet

Ryan Adams, Solo In His Bedroom

December 5, 2008

Get your mind out of the gutter. He’s not doing that. He’s performing an acoustic version of “Halloweenhead.” And almost manages to not get weird. Then the “downtown, downtown” parts come and he whispers them as sweet nothings into the stuffed animals’ ears. Looks like he’s set up a new YouTube channel today, so keep […]

Ryan Adams and The Cardinals – Cardinology

November 4, 2008

I skimmed two or three reviews of Ryan Adams and the Cardinals’ latest release, Cardinology, last week and all basically boiled the album down to three words – “Eh, it’s okay.” I spent the weekend listening to the album, hoping a light would go off and I’d fall in love. I didn’t, but it’s not […]
