One of my all-time favorite songs was featured in a Subaru commercial called “Hockey Mom.” The Pogues song “If I Should Fall From Grace With God” is the title track from their phenomenal 1988 album.

Bands and Brands
You’ve probably seen the Flip Video commercial series featuring video shot on Flip cameras (I especially like the one with Brooke Burke). The end of each commercial features a mere 3 chords from Free Energy’s song “Dream City”, but they’re instantly recognizable. If you haven’t looked into Free Energy’s debut album Stuck on Nothing, check out our review here. It’s catchy.
Their lead singer also wins the coveted “Highest Hi-Tops Ever” award – and if that weren’t impressive enough, he did it while wearing a Garfield shirt.

Zales has a new commercial that’s getting serious play, just in time to capitalize on all those dudes looking to score this holiday season. The commercial features The Black Keys song “Girl Is On My Mind” off of 2004′s Rubber Factory.

Another indie music spotting in mainstream media! Chevy has a new commercial for the Volt that features the song “Generator ^ First Floor” by Freelance Whales. The commercial, mp3 and tour dates follow.
