I think your blog is great! If you get a chance, you should check out this band called the Heavy Empty.

They’re an ambient rock group, which has one of the most instrumentally dynamic sounds I’ve heard in a long time. They were mentioned on
Sound Dessert and a few other music blogs.

Anyway, if you get a chance check them out!

To the great people of hearya.com:

You guys should try to get Farewell Milwaukee (group from Minnesota) to do a session. Their 2011 release, “When It Sinks In” is a wonderful album! Thank you for all the great info and music. I greatly appreciate it.

Love this site. You’ve led me to so much new music in just the past couple of months. I would love to see a session with Morning Teleportation come up. They remind me of Modest Mouse mixed with White Denim. Keep up the good work!

I see you have a session on here from Jill Andrews… She turned me onto a band called The Dirty Guv’nahs out of Knoxville, TN. Would LOVE to hear them do a HearYa session soon. Amazing band. (www.thedirtyguvnahs.com)

You guys should check out Tommy and the High Pilots, if you haven’t heard of them. They are amazing, and I’d love to see them do a session here. :)

Randall Metting December 7, 2012 at 2:26 am

You must check out Ryan Bingham! Please. Love what y’all do. Keep up the excellent work!

I’m new to your site. I just want to say: Thank You, Thank You, Thank You, for introducing me to some great artists that I otherwise may have never heard of. Fantastic job by everyone involved in HearYa. :-)

To the workers behind Hear Ya,
Thank you providing intimate, live sessions of music at the click of a button! It is very much enjoyed here in Oklahoma! Great band that has been around OK for some time now, the Admirals; give them a consideration for a set, I think you may be pleasantly surprised. Keep up the good work!

So, are you waiting for me to offer to pay ransom for the third Deep Dark Woods session that you are holding hostage?

Shirk March 24, 2014 at 9:59 pm

ekorn- I’m on it. Sorry to keep you waiting so long. The studio has been so busy, it’s been hard for me to keep up with the HearYa session mixing/editing. It’s in the works though and I’ll have it to you soon enough. Thanks for being patient.

ekorn March 25, 2014 at 11:00 am

Shirk, I know it will be worth waiting for. Their previous HearYa sessions are my favourite musical find on the internet.

Alex Fox May 1, 2014 at 6:28 am

Dear Sir/Madam,

From the 12th of May, ‘Doctor Doctor’, the debut single from pianist/singer-songwriter Alex Fox, will be available from all good online stores and distributors.

Hailing from rural, coastal Essex, Alex Fox allies traditional songwriting and arrangements with contemporary themes – not too surprising given his background of classical piano and growing up in alternative and indie rock bands. Add his unique, soaring vocals and quite a heady mix is achieved.

Having performed his songs at not only several of the Uk’s premier venues and independent festivals, but also having showcased his classical repertoire at numerous concert halls across Europe, Alex Fox brings a unique perspective on what it takes to hold a room, regardless of size, as an artist and performer.

‘Doctor Doctor’ was recorded over the winter of 2013/2014 by on open fire, produced by Daniel Williams of Wild Combination/Magistrates and mastered by Christian Wright (Gravity CD Soundtrack/Gabrielle Aplin/Howler) at Abbey Road.

As ‘Doctor Doctor’ isn’t available to the public yet, please click the link below to privately stream ‘Doctor Doctor’, and please find attached the official press release.
