It’s been quite some time since our last free giveaway, but we’ve got a great one for you. Email us at freeshit@hearya.com with a run-on-sentence describing your favorite Radiohead album or song and you could win a prize pack that includes collector’s editions of all the albums listed above. Make sure to put “Radiohead Giveaway” in the subject line.

Here are the details of the prize:

Radiohead’s Kid A (2000), Amnesiac (2001), and Hail To The Thief (2003) were recently released by Capitol/EMI in expanded “Collectors Edition” and limited “Special Collectors Edition” packages. Each “Collectors Edition” includes the original album plus a second CD of rarities, including radio sessions and live recordings. Each “Special Collectors Edition,” in deluxe, lift-top box packaging, includes both audio discs and adds a DVD with various video clips, as well as a series of postcards.

Kid A’s “Collectors Edition” features the original album on disc one, and on disc two, rare concert recordings, a session recorded for BBC Radio One in 2000, and live recordings from Canal+ Studios. The “Special Collectors Edition” DVD adds three performances from the band’s June 2001 appearance on “Later… With Jools Holland.”

Amnesiac’s “Collectors Edition” features the original album on disc one, and on disc two, rare concert recordings and tracks recorded live at Canal+ Studios in 2001. The “Special Collectors Edition” DVD adds four promotional music videos, two 2001 performances for “Top Of The Pops,” and four performances from the band’s June 2001 appearance on “Later… with Jools Holland.”

Hail To The Thief’s “Collectors Edition” features the original album on disc one, and on disc two, EPs with rarities and live recordings, as well as a May 2003 recording for the “Jo Whiley Show.” The “Special Collectors Edition” DVD adds four promotional music videos, a live performance at the Belfort Festival and a May 2003 TV performance from “Later… with Jools Holland.”

I can’t mention Chad VanGaalen without repeating the how he described Canadians at a concert a few years back:

Chad VanGaalen is a Canadian. At least he’s a generous furry mutant because he just offered a free EP of B-Sides from his latest album, Soft Airplane. According to the press release…

These tracks cover some of the same themes that run through the album. However, while meditations on birth, love, death, and our fragile ecosystem play out over broken drum machine beats and acoustic stompers, these estranged B-sides – some playful impromptu tunes, or rough first takes – exist as a leaner and often more light-hearted complement to the album.

Joe Pug has been hard at work on his new album, recorded in Chicago with HearYa Live Session producer, Steve Shirk at Shirk Music + Sound. That means it’s going to sound great.

My favorite band, The Black Keys, are gearing up to release a new live DVD on November 18th. It was produced and directed by Lance Bangs (R.E.M.’s Road Movie). The disc will include 17 live songs; original music videos for “Your Touch,” “Just Got To Be,” and “Strange Times;” and behind-the-scenes footage of the making of the band’s most recent album, Attack & Release. The live performance was recorded on April 4, 2008 at a sold-out show at The Crystal Ballroom in Portland, OR.

Black Keys fans can purchase the DVD now at a special low price ($9.00).
