Good Morning is the Melbourne-based recording project of Stefan Blair and Liam Parsons. Basketball Breakups Their second album of 2019 was recorded at the end of a tour in Japan. The whole album has a loose feel to it; many of the tracks are early takes and instruments bleed into each other. My initial take was that it sounded like early Parquet Courts; but loaded up on Ambien. It just ambles about pointing shit out.

The track below, Classic Quip, is my favorite on the album and the video does it justice. It’s kind of like they’re letting us in on the joke. A couple of my other favorites are Garden and WAr On Me. The other album they release this year, The Option, is more a polished studio affair and equally worthy of your time. They’re going to be at The Empty Bottle on Saturday. If I can exfiltrate myself from kid’s sporting events, I plan on taking in their set.
