The Pinheads – Is This Real (album review)

by Woody on May 31, 2019

The Pinheads are an Australian five-piece from “The Leisure Coast” and they play a brew of rock and roll that pulls from all sorts of genres; every song is a ripper.

The album bravely opens with the sludgy 8 minute Pure Hate with buzzing guitars slowly building upon each other in a cacophony of noise. That’s followed by Feel It Now, a garage rock tune that would feel right at place on Burger’s fine collection. The album continues chugging along with great tracks like No Time, Not Like You and On & On.

This album has been such a pleasant surprise for me. It is a ripping album full of good ol’ fashioned guitar riffs.
