Ex Hex signs with Merge Records; releases Hot and Cold 7″

by Woody on February 11, 2014

Ex Hex are a new band signed to Merge Records. They are a DC-based power-trio featuring Mary Timony, Betsy Wright, and Laura Harris. Upon joining the Merge roster, Mary had this to say – “Ex Hex is what your older brother’s friends listened to. “Roxy Roller” and “Virginia Plain” rumbling from the Kenwood in the basement. It’s what your babysitters listened to, and it’s what stuck with me. Ex Hex is a power trio: guitar, drums, and bass. We are thrilled to have found a home at Merge.”

God damn, if that doesn’t get you excited, I don’t know what will. If for some reason, you are still on the fence, check at the track below. They will be at SXSW and I plan on spilling a beer all over myself while rocking out to these ladies.

They have a 7″ coming out on March 18th with a full length coming out later this year.
