White Denim accounce new album Coriscana Lemonade; first track Pretty Green

HearYa alumni, White Denim, have announced the release of their new album, Corsicana Lemonade. It is going to see the light of day on 10/29 and Jeff Tweedy handled the production for a couple of tunes and did the mixing. Here is a pic of Jeff and I after discussing the ins and outs of the process and how it should sound. Judging from the track below, Jeff took my sage advice to heart. Amazingly, my expertise was not mentioned in the press release. Probably want to keep that on the down low. Good thinking fellas.

“We wheeled-in a bunch of crazy ’50s gear and played from noon until 2 a.m. every day until the album was done,” recalls Petralli. “We played live together, doing takes as a whole. Whatever sounded best was what we stuck with.” ‘Corsicana Lemonade’ is the follow-up to White Denim’s D, which was awarded four stars by Rolling Stone and MOJO and named by both publications as one of the 50 best albums of 2011 (HearYa had it at 16). “Expect whiplash of the most intriguing, enjoyable kind,” said SPIN while Pitchfork praised D as “White Denim’s best-sounding effort yet.”
