Great list — lots of stuff I need to check out.
Your list and my list share quite a few commonalities.

good list. but the omission of andrew bird’s noble beast?
Or Cory Branan’s ‘Mutt’? Seriously? Get yer shit together Hear Ya.
Surprised no JBM. Loved Stray Ashes. Then again, most of Hearya’s top 10 doesn’t jive with me. Surprising, cause last years list was similar to mine.
Pleased to see Damien Jurado on here, and I definitely put “Shields” in my top 5. What about “Swing Lo Magellan?”
Nice List
Field Report
Alabama Shakes
Grizzly Bear
The Lumineers
Two Gallants
all made my top ten this year.
I was too impressed with the new Lucero, or Justin Townes Earle albums though.
I will have to check some of the others on this list.
great list
I would include the Shins and Cat Power albums
Lord Huron and Bhi Bhiman both in top 10
Thanks for the great list! I did a terrible job of listening to new music this year and this has already provided many great finds I would not have found on my own.
Patrick Watson?
Great list hearya.com!!! Thanks for doing what ya are doing on this site. Keep up the great work!!!
Five albums worth a listen or two that are not on hearya.com’s Best of 2012 List, but also released in 2012:
Chris Robinson Brotherhood – Big Moon Ritual.
Chris Robinson Brotherhood- The Magic Door.
Beachwood Sparks – The Tarnished Gold.
Allah-Las – Allah-Las.
Ryan Bingham – Tomorrowland.
Fantastic list. found 6 or 7 bands/artists I hadn’t heard of and loved!
Jake Bugg S/T. Best album of 2012. Enough said…
DISCOUNT GUNS! Hail yeah!
Discount Guns rawwkkk. Not really…seriously, this list is a joke if it has that crap of an album on it.
Great list! 2012 was a good year for music. I’ve been living under rocks (also known as toddlers) for the last couple years. I’m glad I found your site, it’s helping me play catch-up.
Spot on selection guys! My own editor should read this site.
Not suprised that TBT was at the top. The band is doing Duluth proud!
