Other Lives deliver my first Holy Sh*t moment of 2011 in 2010

by oz on December 8, 2010

Other Lives’ self-titled 2009 release was one of our favorites that year and the wait is over to catch a glimpse of the next record.  The band has been busting ass in the studio, sparing no time for grooming. Lead singer Jesse Tabish was photographed recently with his unleashed mane of hair and healthy beard.

Just listen to this Thom York-approved demo of “For 12.” These guys have a knack for composing arrangements and you can get lost for days in the nuances. For instance, take note of when Jesse hums to strings at 1:18 and 2:54. Subtle, but brilliant. I can’t wait for the main course due out in Spring of 2011.

Great song! Will this ever be released on an album? I want to buy the full fidelity version, but can’t find it anywhere.

“For 12” is a teaser track that the band released a month or so ago. I think it will be included in an EP they are releasing in early 2011. You can get the full version at that time.

You guys have any inside scoop on Other Lives coming back through Chicago to promote “Tamer Animals” when it drops in May? Would love to see them at Schubas again…
