It’s a Shame, It’s a Pity. It’s spectacular. The Moondoggies release new mp3.

Y’all are in for a real treat when this album is released on October 12th. I won’t say more until we write a proper review, but their harmonies will sound luscious in a HearYa Live Session during their Chicago visit.  I’ve seen the band thrice (in San Francisco, Austin, and Atlanta) and they deliver the goods. If you’re a fan of alt-country, Seattle’s Moondoggies are a no-brainer.

Listen to this and tell me what you think:

I saw the Moondoggies opening for Blitzen Trapper in SF, about 2 months ago. Interestingly, they had two kinds of sounds in their music, depending on the song: one that was alt.rock, and one that was alt.country. It was a very clear distinction, not a blend. One song was like this, the other song was like that, and so on.

Personally, I liked their alt.rock variety better than alt.country. My husband did too. But then again, that’s just personal taste and music/life experiences (we aren’t Americans, so we didn’t grow up with country music as a norm).

Love the tune he was playing in the beginning while having the voiceover…calm and soothing. Great introduction to The Moondoggies for us newbies. =)

This was the first I heard of this band a few days ago. Since then I’ve gone on to buy their complete discography online.

Thanks for the introduction.
