Joe Pug, Elvis Costello, and The Levon Helm Band perform “The Weight” in Vancouver

by oz on August 17, 2010

Joe Pug is all growed up. He’s been touring and joining the stage with the likes of Steve Earle, Josh Ritter, and most recently, The Levon Helm band and Elvis Costello (video below). Joe is endearing on stage with what I’d imagine are his idols. I’m sure it was a surreal experience.

It’s been pretty amazing to watch Joe’s career unfold. He was giving away his debut EP to anyone willing to listen and he won over fans and artists alike with the songwriting on songs like “Hymn 101.”

Joe’s debut album, Messenger, is out now and you can download two of its tracks below. You can also download his pre-Messenger teaser EP, In The Meantime, for free here.

Joe must have left quite a welt on his right side. He kept pounding his side with the beat as he was obviously so damn excited.

It was great to see/hear this clip. It makes me wish I’d been there. I too, have watched Joe’s career take off and I love the artists he performed with.
