This is the kind of music I wait for years to hear because music this great is so scarce now a days. Skybox is creative, inspiring and seriously talented. This session almost made me cry, I love passionate music and this is passionate music.

I’m really loving this band. Engaging lyrics are the first thing that grab me, but the variety from song to song is refreshing. I like how they go from being almost to cool to being very sweet and tender. Yay for creativity.

Shirkland – I can’t believe I’m only the 2nd person to comment. Love that “In a Dream” song. So catchy. Good work on this one – a nice change of pace.

I can’t believe that I’m the first person commenting on these guys. While I wholeheartedly admit that this band is outside of the usual style we gravitate toward at HearYa, I think that this band is really good. I’ve seen them live a few times, even shared the stage with them once last year at Double Door…never did they disappoint. Every show was packed and they sold out their last two recent shows at Schubas. The crowd was loving it. Perhaps those fans are not frequent HearYa readers??? Anyhow, solid players and writing. What I think really separates them from the pack is that they sound UNIQUE….very hard to do in my book. I think the tune “Trout” is really amazing. I remember when I first heard the album, I was floored by that tune…still am.
