Since Oz now lives in Atlanta (a music scene step-up from wherever he lived before), I’ve included Atlanta in this month’s recommended shows. I must say the month of music doesn’t look too good in Atlanta, although Chicago doesn’t look all that promising either. One of two things has happened here: 1) Touring in January is awful, or 2) I’ve missed some good shows. Let us know if there are some good bands to check out in your neck of the nape. See you at the rock show.

For the record, I’m not sure I’d call this a music scene step-up. I’m about the same distance to downtown Atlanta as I was to downtown San Francisco. I’d put San Francisco’s music scene right up with Chicago (behind NYC). Not sure where LA falls on the list.
i am looking forward to january’s lineup:
RAA
brighton, MA
someone still loves you boris yeltsin
alberta cross
that’s four of my recent faves right there.
Happy New Year!
Thanks!
I believe that Alec Ounsworth (Clap Your Hands…) is opening for Cold War Kids
