Elvis Perkins In Dearland to Release New EP

If you’ve seen Elvis Perkins In Dearland play a live show over the last several months, odds are you noticed a couple things: 1) their drummer looks a little like Tucker from There’s Something About Mary, and 2) they play several REALLY good songs that can’t be found on any of their albums. Well, now those songs are being made available on the forthcoming The Doomsday EP, available October 20^th on XL Recordings.

The EP offers six tracks, including the original “Doomsday” from the self-titled Elvis Perkins In Dearland full-length released earlier this year. It also includes a slower version of the song, which isn’t a standout but is interesting nonetheless. The rest of the EP is outstanding, with three of my favorite songs from their live performances: “Stay Zombie Stay,” “Weeping Mary,” and the infectious “Stop Drop Rock And Roll.” Pick up the EP on October 20^th or catch these songs live on tour.
