Let’s take a short break from alt-country shall we? Japandroids are a punk two-piece coming to us from Vancouver. They recently signed to Polyvinyl (Of Montreal, Architecture in Helsinki, The M’s, Loney Dear) and will release their debut album, Post-Nothing, in September. Here’s a sneak listen.

Sounds like this would be a fun show in a packed little dive bar. No Austin date though. Would have been fun to check these guys out live.
At first I really didn’t like Japandroids. I think I have to now. Their music is pretty good and they’re really coming around. Lots of favorable press in their direction.

isnt Post-Nothing already out? its up on iTunes anyway. it is awesome.
erin – i’m pretty sure the press release said September, but we’re known for making erroneous statements since our fact-checker quit. It’s available on eMusic right now also.
Not only has Post-Nothing been out since April, it’s one of the best of 09 so far. The band is from Vancouver and the album was released on Unfamiliar in Canada, it is being re-released on Polyvinyl in Aug. Additionally the band is playing Pitchfork this weekend–a can’t miss for me as this is one spectacular record.
