Ha Ha Tonka

HearYa favs and friends, Ha Ha Tonka, will be releasing their sophomore album, Novel Sounds of the Nouveau South on July 16th via Bloodshot Records. The gentleman from the Ozarks were nice enough to offer up a couple new tracks in advance of the release.

Side note: I’ll be at Lake of the Ozarks over 4th of July. Ha Ha, if you’re reading, how about a little impromptu gig in the party cove? I’m just saying.

Love these guys! Why is July 16th so far way?

I was really looking forward to the new record but am really disappointed by both of these two tracks.

Especially “Walking on the…” just doesn’t seem to get anywhere. I was checking the whole time how much longer it was because I got bored after about a minute and half into it and wanted it to be over.

Hopefully some of the other songs on the record will be better than these two but I wonder why they choose these tracks to promote the record.

Steve – I had the EXACT same feeling when I first heard the tracks. I had the same feeling after listening through the album twice. It’s one of those records that reveals itself over time.

If you stick with those two tracks and they start making sense to you, I think you’ll dig the album. It took some time for me, but the payoff is there.
