Stimulus Package: The HearYa SXSW 2009 Day Party, Wednesday 11am – 2am

by oz on February 26, 2009

We weren’t originally planning to host a party at SxSW 2009, but as fate would have it, we’re now collaborating with Tom Schraeder and QuinnStorm.com to throw one helluva a shindig. The economic crisis is stealing a lot of our thunder, but we’re kick-starting the festival with a Stimulus Package of our own. In true near-Depression fashion, the event is free and open to the public.

There will be DJ’s spinning in between sets to avoid the awkward silence during set changes and rumor has it that there will even be a singer/songwriter performing in the restroom area.

Other perks? How about lots of free shit, including delicious ice-cold beer (the Rolling Rock flavor).

And the lineup kind of speaks for itself:

11am Danny Malone
Noon Ferraby Lionheart
1pm The Henry Clay People
2pm The Deep Dark Woods
3pm Joe Pug
4pm Tom Schraeder
5pm Justin Townes Earle
6pm Motel Motel
7pm Gringo Star
8pm Tigercity
9pm Morning Benders
10pm BLK JKS
11pm Harlem Shakes
12am Red Cortez
1am Tallest Man On Earth

The rest of the details:

Stimulus Package
hosted by HearYa.com and QuinnStorm.com

The Paradise
401 E. 6th St.
Wednesday, 11am – 2am. That’s a doosey.

Warning: It’s a small venue, so get there early and set up shop.

We’re a bit late to the game in finalizing the lineup, so do us a favor and tell all your SXSW friends. It’ll be a nice time.

Here’s what it’ll sound like:

Danny Malone – In The Darkness (from the HearYa Live Session)

Ferraby Lionheart – Corrine

The Henry Clay People – Something In The Water

The Deep Dark Woods – All The Money I Had Is Gone

Joe Pug – Hymn 101

Tom Schraeder – Needle Will Bite

Justin Townes Earle – Mama’s Eyes

Motel Motel – Coffee

Tigercity – Are You Sensation

The Morning Benders – Damnit Anna (from the HearYa Live Session)

Great lineup! Looking forward to it…

Sweet Jesus, that afternoon schedule is sick – Henry Clay, Brood will get me all amped up and then Joe Pug and Justin Townes Earle will smooth me right into the night.

Good chance I am getting weird at this party.

That’s a really solid line up. I’d come to this but I’m still afraid Oz will follow through on his threat from Treasure Island to dump a beer on me.

Treasure Island’s beers were way to expensive. These are free, so there’s a high probability I’ll dump my beer on someone…

Actually, that’s just wasteful. In keeping with the Stimulus Package theme, no beer shall be wasted.

According to Deep Dark Woods they are also playing your showcase. Is this true? http://www.myspace.com/deepdarkwoods

Bryan – We’re dealing w/ some scheduling conflicts, but trying to get DDW in there somehow. I’m in contact with the band and will keep y’all posted.

Just an unbelievable lineup. Can’t believe I have to miss it. I’m so close to crying right now.

Cool! Regardless of whether DDW makes it, the lineup looks great. Sorry for the accidental double post…
