Some time ago, I received an email about a group of gals from Murfreesboro that had opened up for O’Death and would be on Dan Auerbach’s tour. As you could imagine, my interest was piqued and after checking them out on YouTube, I was immediately won over by the threesome’s sass. They hit the stage in Daisy Dukes, cowboy boots and guitars and combine a classic Nashville sound with enough sexuality in their appearance and songs to give it an edge.
While some bands wow you with their technical prowess, Those Darlins come at you from a different angle. I refer to bands like this as “vibe” bands that win you over with personality. They write catchy, enjoyable tunes that immediately make you feel as if you’ve heard them before and they truly enjoy themselves while they play – and it resonates with the audience. After spending a couple of hours with them, I can say that they are some of the nicest people I have met.
The ladies dropped in to the studio with a drummer and banged out a few tunes from their upcoming release. It was freezing in Chicago, therefore no Daisy Dukes. The Southern belles will be opening up for Dan Auerbach on March 6 at the Metro. I plan on getting there early to see them in their natural setting.

Saturday night cannot come quickly enough.
i’d also like some props for wisely avoiding any “bearded clam” references.
Wow, you can hear the crickets chirping on that one.
i still fully support the bearded.
