Tyler was the best song on that album, hands down. Toadies were my 1st concert, opening for Bush in Cleveland. Also, I had a similar revelation of 90′s being the new 80′s on the Brown Line this past October. There was a group of pretty cute, clearly collegiate ladies sharing the car with me…clearly this grabbed my attention. What really peaked my interest though, was the fact that they were all inexplicably dressed. Now, it wasn’t obvious what the theme was, but something was up. So, I asked what they were doing and they relpied ‘going to a 90′s party’…those 5 words uttered by that girl in the high waisted jeans and body suit turned a page in my life. The next week, I got married, 2 weeks later, I had a little baby boy. Sometimes, it’s the little things that make you realize, you just need to grow up.

“Possum Kingdom” was a good one – I remember sitting in my bedroom and learning how to play that opening riff on a guitar I borrowed from my neighbor. I was also a big fan of “Tyler” by the Toadies.

I hear ya people. I mentioned the song “Possum Kingdom” by the Toadies to a guy at work, who is an active musician, and he had no clue as to what I was speaking of. Either I’m getting old, or the younger folk just aren’t listening to the oldies as much.

Hilarious post.

Thanks for the Spacehog – always loved that track. Also, the only time I ever thought “man, I’d love to hear this song right now”, and turned on the car radio, and that very song was just starting – it was “In The Meantime”.

Please don’t ever mention the Crash Test Dummies again, though. I’m still trying to scrub them out of my brain, 15 years later.
