I’ve been looking for another reason to post the cover art for Neko Case’s upcoming release Middle Cyclone, due out on March 3rd. Now I have it.
Every time a blogger posts the new song, “People Got A Lotta Nerve” as a free download, Neko and Anti Records will donate $5 to Best Friends Animal Society, an animal rescue organization. I dig viral marketing and I like animals. If you own a blog, spread the word and save a puppy. If you are an iLike user, just add the track to your profile and you’ll feel the same sense of gratification.

greg kot, he of tribune/sound opinions, had a post the other day about best arena-rock anthems. hearya has mentioned before about dead confederate’s need to blast out its big sound in a wide-open space.
what are some songs from bands we discuss here that would arouse arena folks?
i’ll start with these:
dbt — ronnie and neil
pavement — summer babe
pixies — where is my mind?
dead confederate — the rat
sounds great. Can’t wait for this release. That being said, this album deserves to be owned on vinyl for the cover alone.
Seems like a good post on its own.
Lucero -I Can Get Us Out of Here Tonight has some springsteen-esque arena appeal.
