Guns N’ Roses - Chinese Democracy [Now Streaming]

by oz on November 20, 2008

Music’s greatest cocktease, Axl Rose, is finally set to release Chinese Democracy on the 23rd. Great timing, too. He could have released it back when consumers had the money to actually buy music…or any other consumer product for that matter.

Stream the album here.

Streaming this now as I’m doing paper work in the studio. The album isn’t nearly as bad as I anticipated. Not something I’d probably put on as a benchmark for original production….but it’s at least tolerable. I was expecting to absolutely hate it.

It sucks to hear Axl abuse the auto-tune on the higher notes that he just can’t quite reach and hold anymore.

I miss Slash.

Ooops…some piano ballad just came on. Sounds like Elton John meets Broadway. This song blows. I’ll plod through….

Ah yes, the piano ballad track is “Street of Dreams” and the comparison you’re looking for is Meatloaf.

oz–while it is evident you nailed this meatloaf semblance without any effort, and while focusing on lighting your match… did you articulate this to watson before or after you got your pipe lit?
excellent call …and delivery holmes ; )

i managed to get through about two songs before i had enough. i’m not bagging on g and r (my friends know i own the rights to lincoln karaoke’s sweet child o mine), but it’s not all that interesting and seems as if rose tried way too hard.
