AA Bondy is going to be at Schubas on Monday, November 10th and I’m 87% 100% sure he’s coming in for a live session with us beforehand. I described his debut, American Hearts, as “damn near perfect” and I haven’t changed my mind. I’m still in love with that album. Catch him at Schubas if you can.

Bondy is one of the best artists of all time. I saw him open for The Weakerthans in Towson, MD and fell in love. I bought his cd that night and have listened to it on my ipod, , at work, in my car and at home more than 50 times since, in its entirety. His music is incredible, from the excellent acoustic songs with lyrics that are melodramatic, depressing and uplifting. When I first heard “Kill Myself When I Was Young” I thought, this guy is NUTS! But if you actually listen, its incredible. What an exciting song, trying to get out of the slump.
One of the most under-rated artists ever and will forever be a favorite of mine.
Wow. Very well put.
tho i cannot provide anything as profound as Dave, i will ditto his comments. i caught AA open for Felice Bro’s at the Abbey few months back. AWESOME. i got angry with the people chattering because they were not giving him the respect him and his songs deserved. he was a lone man onstage with such presence that i felt like i was the only one in the room he was singing to despite the fuckwits around me chatting. thanks for teh heads up–looks like i will be at schubas 2 nts in a row : )
I just picked up American Hearts yesterday and cant stop listening to it. I will be at Schubas tonight for sure. Thanks for the heads up!
