Stoney Clove Lane is the perfect band to play when you drink canned beer. They hail from the Woodstock, GA NY area and Stay With Me is their debut on the Woodstock Music Works record label. The band is primarily Jeremy Bernstein handling vocals, lead guitar, and songwriting. Multi-instrumentalist Adam Widoff handles the music and plays the everything but the guitar.
They have an easy-going rootsy alt-country sound that befits their hometown. I’m reminded of Mofro and HearYa favorite Four Year Bender. Influences from the late 70’s abound on Stay With Me. “Castles Fall” is a sweet rocker that Simone Felice had a hand in writing and Bernstein kicks out a nice solo, reminiscent of Rick Danko. The opener, “Crawl,” is one of the most aptly named tunes I have run across in quite some time with a slow, swampy blues-boogie that more or less guarantees that you are going to enjoy the 40 minute effort.
Other highlights include “Chasing Rainbows,” which is the most-radio friendly effort on the disc and I wouldn’t be shocked one bit if this was on XRT by year’s end. So grab yourself a sixer of whatever canned beer you are not boycotting and enjoy this winning effort.

Thanks for the review. We really love this album,
But Georgia? Where did that come come from? Both the label and band are based in Woodstock, New York, the namesake of 1969 Festival.
Thanks,
