One Track at a Time: Gringo Star – All Y’all

Gringo Star

Attention record labels. This band is unsigned. Let the feeding frenzy begin.

A friend of mine in Atlanta tipped me off to a local band called Gringo Starr. Full disclosure: He actually manages the band. Gringo Star has a garage rock sound reminiscent of The Animals, but they take their southern roots along for the ride. Their demo EP was self-released and I’m really anxious to hear their chops on a proper full-length. The standout single from their demo is a garage-rocker called “All Y’all.”

Gringo Star will be traveling around the midwest this month, including a few days in Chicago. Visit them on MySpace for details.
