I have a stack of CD’s at my place that have remained untouched since November. If you are a band that has submitted music to us and we haven’t posted anything, it’s nothing personal. Busy workdays and crazy travel schedules have made it tough to keep up. This is my weekend to dig in.
I just uncovered A Case of the Emperor’s Clothes by twin brothers that make up the band Princeton. It arrived in a cardboard envelope as it’s CD case, decorated with nothing more than a blue stamp as cover art. I gave it a spin and found that these guys put together a really nice string of sincere pop-tunes that show promise.
The album begins with “The Indifference Curve,” a track that starts off like a lullaby before turning into an upbeat pop tune with well-timed hand claps. For some reason hand claps always win me over. “Tokyo Japan” and “Blackbeard” are also included below for your sampling pleasure.
More from the mailman soon.
Princeton - The Indifference Curve

I had the misfortune of coming across this band at El Cid in Silverlake, CA. They were terrible! As a lover of live music I honestly believe they are the worst of the worst and am in complete disbelief they were able to get booked in the first place. Goes to show that it’s no longer about talent - is the booker there deaf? Put on some bad 70’s thrift shop clothes and you can get up on stage and torment people…. amazing! The only saving grace was the band that followed - The Antiques, they were great!
couldn’t agree more about the antiques. check out our live sessions: http://www.hearya.com/2007/04/20/hearya-session-1-joey-barro-of-the-antiques-solo-acoustic/
