Our live session with Ha Ha Tonka is now up on eMusic, free of charge. It’s the first session released on our favorite music service and it’s getting great reviews…mostly.
As you may or may not know, the HearYa workforce consists of regular blokes with day jobs. We’re fans just like you, but we work hard to spread the word about the bands we like. In order to keep live sessions running, we need a sponsor and a talented, flexible producer to cover the studio and production costs (Thanks again, Shirk).
Thanks to Ha Ha Tonka’s talent, the session is getting mostly good reviews on eMusic, but the first review I read yesterday morning really irritated me. Some schmuck was complaining about the 5 second intro before each song that mentioned that the session was sponsored by Beer Nuts (which are delicious by the way). I never anticipated that someone would complain about getting free music, but I guess the old adage is wrong. Beggars can be choosers.
Thanks to those of you that jumped in and combated the ass clown. You can read a few of the comments below…
The Tracks Begin with Advertising
I don’t listen to music looking forward to commercials…. I deleted all of these tracks off my computer–they’re not worth putting in rotation in my media player b/c of the talking on them!
thanks (to the guy above)
you saved me a download! This is the same reason I opt to subscribe to KEXP’s podcast instead of other “free” music podcasts. NO TALKING/ADVERTISING! oh well, plenty of other great music to be had, but I can’t be bothered putting songs through garageband just to remove what already shouldn’t be there. the music should speak for itself.
it’s free
um, no need to pine about “saving a download”, it’s free.
It’s Free!
I’m a huge fan of Ha Ha Tonka and this gives a great taste of their live sound and a couple stories to back up the tracks. Amazing vocals and great chemistry as a band.
Got some talent,good music
Never heard of them, but I like what I hear. Some good tracks on here. And as for the commentary it took all of ten seconds to edit “cut” the songs start or end so that there is only music on the track,in iTunes anyway. Media Player can’t do it? use NERO,ROXY etc…… if you can’t hang as is.Thanks for the tunes and good job.Glad I took the time to listen for myself.
Here are two of the tracks (with commercial interruption).
