These guys are better than I could have even imagined. Oz did a post on the Felice Brothers’ first album, Tonight at the Arizona, back in October. I listened to the free track he posted, “Ballad of Lou the Welterweight,” and was instantly intrigued. Then, back in March, The Felice Brothers released their self-titled full-length and I was completely blown away. It’s my favorite album of the year so far. I know I said the same thing about Pete Molinari a couple weeks ago, but this is better. [...] [...] Holy crap. These guys are better than I could have even imagined. Not only does the lead Felice sound more like Dylan than Dylan does, but also he has a better stage presence! If Bright Eyes had not even shown up, I would have been fine; The Felice Brothers satisfied me musically. The Brothers are very genial and gregarious; I met them after the show. They love to love their fans. In a word: Extraordinary. I saw The Felice Brothers at The Gibson Showcase Ballroom in Memphis, TN the other night.
