I’m going to Italy tomorrow. What albums should I buy?

Godfather

My long awaited trip to Italy is finally here. The wife and I will be traveling to Venice then Florence, Tuscany and Rome. I’ll have 12 hours on an airplane tomorrow to listen to some new tunes. Before I dive into iTunes and eMusic, does anyone have any recommendations? I’d like to load up the iPod.

Since I’m the administrator of HearYa, posting may be sporadic over the next two weeks.

hmmm dunno if you’ve listened to it yet, but try Kate Nash’s Caroline’s A Victim. Her new single Foundations kicks booty. Also check out this http://theplaylist.blogspot.com/2007/04/soundtrack-series-moves-to-interweb.html good music/great picks…

not a music recommendation (that’s your job!) but a chocolate recommendation. if you like chocolate at all (who doesn’t), you must go to rivoire on piazza della signora in florence. they have the best hot chocolate in the world. it’s a fortune (i was hesitant to spend the $8 when they were on the lire and bush hadn’t ruined our dollar, i can’t imagine how much it is now) but worth every penny (or whatever those crazy europeans call 1/100 of a euro)

also, siena is the most wonderful place in tuscany. make sure to climb the tower in piazza del campo.

You can never go wrong with Fionn Regan.

Fionn Regan it is. I’ve been meaning to pick it up.

I also just bought M. Ward – Duet for Guitars #2 and Lucero – The Attic Tapes.

I love Fionn he is the man. Then again Damien Rice’s “O” is a very difficult album to beat for a listen, also Steel Train’s ” Twilight Tales from the Prairies of the Sun” is a very good choice as well.
