Look at my shitty pictures of Ryan Adams

by oz on July 23, 2007

These pictures are just awful. It looks like I took the pictures with a camera phone squeezed between my butt cheeks. Two pics with the flash on, and one with it off. Simply putrid.

The night in Santa Cruz was great, however. I am a bigger fan of the Cardinals after this show, mostly because of guitarist/vocalist Neil Casal. That guy’s guitar skills blew me away and his vocals deserve to be heard front and center before a large audience someday. Ryan played for a solid three hours, thanks to some extended jams with Casal and the boys. Most of the set list was comprised of tracks from the last four albums, but he did play “Dear Chicago,” one of my personal favorites. The song of the night was “Cold Roses.”

Adams injured himself a few months ago skateboarding and this was his first show with an electric guitar in his hands since recovering. He was having a blast and wore an appropriate pair of plaid party pants to prove it. Say that 5 times fast.

You can almost see his pants in the pictures I took from the camera phone in my ass.

Head over to the Live Music Archive to download the show.

Some of the worst photography skills I’ve ever seen. It’s like you only had enough battery for 3 pictures and burned through all of them trying to get a feel for the lighting.

I wish that were the case. I took about 10 pictures and those were the best of the bunch.

You should have just said the show was underwater. I know I couldn’t refute your claim based on these pictures. If anything, they helps your case. Plus, how awesome would that be?

The last one’s sort of cool. For the other ones, I’m not sure I would have posted those…
