I’m looking forward to a great show by Ryan Adams and the Cardinals at the Catalyst in Santa Cruz tonight. To fire up, I’ll be listening to some alternate takes from his new release Easy Tiger, courtesy of I am Fuel, You are Friends.
I realized yesterday how distant indie music fans are from mainstream music fans. I told five co-workers that I’d be at the Ryan Adams show and every single one said something about “Summer of ‘69″ or how much they loved that “Robin Hood song.” I was under the impression that everyone knew about Ryan Adams.
Three of the alternate takes are below, but you can visit I Am Fuel, You Are Friends to download the rest or download them all as a zip.

Thanks for the cuts, Oz…or Fuel. I love the “live” In-Studio sound they get. Ryans guitar tone reminds me more and more of Jerry Garcia’s That spanky, Fender Princeton Reverb sound is wicked. Love it! BTW: If you buy the “Easy Tiger” album from itunes, it comes with a Video version of “Two”…I believe thats the audio version Fuel posted. nice
I just tried to find Video for “Two” and couldn’t find it. I added a nice video from Letterman though.
