Spinal Tap Reunites, Iron and Wine’s New Single, Ryan Adams on NPR

by oz on July 12, 2007

I just watched Apocalypto and am still a little shell-shocked. This post quenches my thirst for sanity and levity. A bit of news and happenings around the web…

Last weekend Rockstars tried to save Earth during Live Earth and failed. Spinal Tap cured global warming just by reuniting. It’s time to pull out the Aqua Net, turn on the AC, cut down a tree, hunt a polar bear and go ahead, flush one more time just for fun. Mother Earth will be just fine thanks to these guys.

Joe at Each Note Secure posted Iron and Wine’s new single that is LOADED with hand claps and begs the question: How much hand clapping is too much hand clapping? They are pushing the limit on “Boy With a Coin.”

I’ll be checking out Ryan Adams next weekend in Santa Cruz and this feature on NPR was a great primer. It’s one of the few interviews I’ve enjoyed listening to and the set is great. Unfortunately NPR doesn’t do video, so I’ve embedded their black sound box.

And finally, totally unrelated to music but a precursor to Drinking Buddy’s upcoming post about the genius of Rod Stewart, here’s my new favorite site to visit: Hot Chicks with Douchebags.
