Scott H. Biram was delivered to us from a honky-tonk somewhere in hell. A friend of mine from Austin recommended the “Dirty Old One Man Band” to me years ago and his sound stopped me in my tracks. I still haven’t seen him live, but I’m pretty sure the guy is crazy as a shithouse rat.
If you haven’t read Biram’s bio, you should visit Bloodshot Records and check it out. He was once hit head on by an 18 wheeler and won the battle. His sound kind of sounds like a car crash, blending metal, punk, blues, gospel and country to create a sound that would frighten the crowd at a biker bar. On Graveyard Shift, Biram is a little less metal and punk than on his previous album and he turns the gospel and blues dials up a notch. It’s still as gritty as ever and a unique taste worth acquiring.
Tour dates can be found here. Woody will be at the Schubas show on August 17th, drinking a PBR in the front row.
