Pitchfork tipped us off to Jason Isbell’s upcoming tour with Centro-matic. I wanted to hold off writing anything about Jason Isbell until his new album was closer to release, but teaming up with Centro-matic for a tour is too good to ignore. Jason also has some solo dates lined up, including tomorrow night at the Beat Kitchen in Chicago.
Jason’s album, Sirens of the Ditch, will be released on July 10th courtesy of New West Records.
As an aside, this guy’s myspace profile is getting hoards of traffic from Jason Isbell fans.

Oz,
For the Jason Isbell Cafe du Nord show, if you go, make sure you get there in time for Fionn Regan. He’s one of my favorite artists over the last year. Really good indie folk stuff out of Ireland.
Unfortunately Isbell scheduled that show without calling me first. That weekend is my 1 year wedding anniversary, so I’ll be out of town. I just checked out Fionn Regan’s site. Good recommendation. There’s a great video – Be Good or Be Gone.
