Last month I mentioned DBT’s Dirt Underneath Tour, which is an all acoustic show at select venues across the country. I visited the Internet Archive and just tracked down their set at the Georgia Theater in Athens and the quality is really good. I was pumped to see “Women Without Whiskey” included. It’s one of my favorite songs and I think it has the best opener of any track out there today.
“If I make it through this year, I think I’m gonna put this bottle down. Maybe as time goes on I’ll learn to miss it less than I do now. Think I’m gonna tell her that I’m gonna go away for a while. Till I can get this demon out.”
If you missed the Dirt Underneath shows, this will give you a good feel for how they went down. Many thanks to whoever recorded this.

Simply put, this is masterful.
Hey there,
I really enjoyed your post and I’m glad more people are writing about this subject. I’ve been trying to discuss this for a while and I even have an article published on it at http://www.telegraph.co.uk/digitallife/main.jhtml?xml=/connected/2007/12/08/dlmusic108.xml
I think you’ve raised some good points!
Cheers,
Barry
