I’m not much of a metal guy these days, but I dabbled in high school. I heard about this list on the radio this morning and had to look it up. It’s bound for controversy. Freddy Mercury at #6? Scott Stapp and Fred Durst made the list but Billy Corgan didn’t? ROD STEWART AGAIN!!! This guy is haunting me lately.
I’ll further assume that punk bands are not included, since Joey Ramone didn’t make the cut.

I disagree with almost everything! First of all the term of Metal is wrongly used and wrongly interpreted by most of the people! I’m just very happy that I didn’t see John Lennon or Elvis Presley or names of that sort. He just mixed up all the names of the 70′s music and after and just made a list with completely no sense. How can someone put in the same list a singer like Dio or Hetlfield with Hendrix and Robert Plant?!?!?! It’s like eating a burger with fish and chicken topped with special scampi sauce!!!!!

Zakk Wylde absolutely has to be in the top 30 or so. Where is Spencer Chamberlain of Underoath? Where are Rody Walker of Protest the Hero and Tommy Rogers of Between the Buried and Me? You leave out so many absolute heroes of metal and put in people like Fred Durst? And Anthony Kiedes, while an awesome vocalist with a good band, is the farthest thing from metal.
Seriously, who put this list together? At least 60% of those guys are not metal singers.

#1 this magazine was stupid enough to walk into having to make a top 100 metal vocalists list when hardly any of the vocalists here are “metal”, should have been more of a top 25 list
#2 they rate freddie mercury behind bon fucking scott, don’t get me wrong, I like both, but neither are “metal” and even if they aren’t metal, freddie mercury should be #2
#3 in my opinion, many people on this list shouldn’t even belong here i.e. james hetfield, dave mustaine, jon bon jovi, geddy lee. jimi hendrix and ozzy osbourne, I love all these people as musicians, but honestly, none of those and more can sing for trash
#4 Rob Halford is good, but not #2.
