Pete Doherty is my favorite crackhead

Pete Doherty

Is Pete Dougherty serious? I’m waiting for the celebrity version of A&E’s Intervention.  We could count on a bi-monthly appearance by Libertines ex-frontman, Pete Doherty. I just read this article in Aversion about his latest adventures.

So much for making progress: Pete Doherty was arrested yet again for drug possession.

The Babyshambles front man was arrested Saturday (Nov. 18) in London, when police pulled him over and allegedly discovered crack cocaine on his person. Two other occupants of the car were also arrested, though authorities haven’t given us their names.

While the bust adds to Doherty’s legendary drug-related rap sheet, it’s probably not the best news for the high-profile drug enthusiast. He’s already under a court-supervised rehabilitation program after copping a guilty plea to seven charges of drug possession in September (read full story). Of course, it’s been a busy year for Britain’s crackhead pin-up, as he also ran afoul of Swedish immigrations for attempting to sneak cocaine into the country this summer (read full story), was the subject of a German drug investigation (read full story), got arrested for possession only hours after leaving court on other charges (read full story) and, setting the bar for legendary rock-star stupid excesses, getting nailed for possession twice in one day (read full story).

Apparently the former Libertines frontman got engaged to Kate Moss at the end of October also. I wonder how those two crazy kids will celebrate…

He has become a parody of himself. He is immensely talented as evident by the first Libertines disc but since then his other two discs, the second Libertines disc and The Babyshambles disc have been tremendously uneven. Mostly crap with a few great songs that poke their way thru the quagmire of crack-addled shit.

Then you look at Carl Barat’s new band Dirty Pretty Things and their new disc which is great and wonder what couldv’e been if he wasn’t so f-ed.

There was a great article in Rolling Stone about him and his troubles.

I care about him about as much as Shannon Doherty.

Seems about as intelligent, too.
