I’m a bouncer for my iPod. I have a 20 gig iPod and 60 gigs of music on my hard drive at home, so music management is a challenge these days.
Recently I had to give Lightin’ Hopkins’ Alladin Recordings and Bob Dylan’s New Order the boot to make room for two of Woody’s recommendations, The Thermals and Lucero. Although the restrictions on space are tight, occasionally I still find a hidden gem; something that I forgot about. On my flight to Seattle last week I found, nestled between Robert Randolph and The Rolling Stones, an MP3 by an artist I labeled as “Rocky’s Cousin” called “Somethin.”
Rocky is a good friend of mine and Somethin’ is a song recorded by his cousin, Chris Conner, who teaches guitar in Columbus, OH. Somethin’ is one of those songs that will remain in my ipod. I won’t delete it for Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, or anyone else. I listen to it and smile knowing that there are guys like Chris playing GREAT guitar and creating quality music that I may never hear.
I found a link to the MP3 on his website. The guitar work really is phenomenal. Take a listen and enjoy.

Maybe you should stop being such a tightass and pony up for a 60 gig Ipod.
Rumor has it Chris is attending law school and taking time off from the music scene. Such a tragedy. Maybe we should sue.
